Mark IV

General Electric’s Speedtronic MKIV gas turbine control, is powered by four distributed microprocessors. Three of the processor are dedicated to controlling the gas turbine. The TMR processor has three cores: R, S, and T. The three processors are identical, but they are also independent gas turbine control processers, which creates triple modular redundancy. The fourth core is dedicated to the communications processor, core. GE’s Speedtronic MKIV is more advanced than its predecessor, the Speedtronic MKII control panel. GE’s Speedtronic MKIV significantly reduces forced outages.
