Mark V

General Electric’s Speedtronic MKV (Mark V) is one of the most prolific gas turbine controls installed. The MKV has a triple-redundant, 16-bit digital microprocessor controller. The turbine control has Software-Implemented Fault Tolerance (SIFT) that includes two-out-of-three voting redundancy with critical control protection parameters. The independent Protection core provides hardwired detection and shutdown functions. The MKV turbine gives the operator greater reliability and reduced forced outages.
